RAID launches the Indoor Diver program

International RAID Diving presented its new Inside diver program, a beginner’s course for divers who prefer to dive in aquariums or other indoor facilities.

the Inside diver was launched as a stand-alone certification and requires students to take the same online courses, quizzes, and final exam as RAID complete program in open water. Students must also complete at least four confined water dives which have no minimum time limit.

The course also requires four open water dives with at least two hours of underwater training.

Additionally, the course requires that indoor dives 5-8 have the same requirements as open water dives 1-4 of the Open water 20 program, except that they are completed in an indoor environment. The minimum dive time for each dive is 30 minutes.

Once certified, a RAID inner diver be able to dive independently with a buddy of similar or greater level of certification and experience to a maximum depth of 18 meters / 60 feet only in an indoor environment.

RAID Vice President of Diver Education PJ Prinsloo Explain:

“We’ve been working on this program for some time to make sure it meets the high level skill requirements of RAID while making it suitable for a community looking for something that relates to their needs.

“In addition to serving its primary purpose as a stand-alone company in the marketplace, RAID has developed a comprehensive upgrade process so that indoor divers can ‘upgrade’ their experience and certification to the program’s high standards. OW20 from RAID.”
