Disney Cruise Line launches new ship name and adds new destinations

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Just months after the debut of the Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line officially unveiled the name of its sixth ship.

The Disney Treasure will join the Disney Cruise Line fleet in 2024 and will be filled with Walt Disney’s love of exploration. During the Expo D23 presentation “A Future Without Limits: Disney Parks, Experiences and Products”, President of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro, gave fans a first look.

“For our sixth ship, we dream of an all-new design concept unlike anything Disney Cruise Line has ever done before,” D’Amaro said. “Its great hall is inspired by the great mystery of a golden palace. It draws on real-world influences from Asia, Africa, as well as the distant land of Agrabah.

The ship’s Great Hall features a beautiful statue depicting Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Magic Carpet soaring together in a whole new world of adventure.

As Disney Cruise Line fans eagerly await the arrival of the new ship, Disney Cruise Line sets sail for an underworld. From October 2023, the fleet ship, The Disney Wonder, will begin carrying passengers to Australia and New Zealand.

“The ship here is the destination for these voyages inviting guests to this region to experience stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, and we are thrilled to bring something new to those who have never experienced this type of Disney magic before,” D’Amaro explained. “Now, of course, I’m also thrilled to share that Disney Wonder repositioning cruises will be our first trips to the South Pacific – giving you the chance to experience destinations like Fiji and Samoa.”

“We are still in the early stages, but I can say this will be a spectacular location for our Disney Cruise Line,” D’Amaro said. “We are excited to create a place where you can experience the stories and traditions passed down through generations of Eleuthera residents. We know how much our guests love Castaway Cay, so we can’t wait for you all to set foot in the sand of this new island destination.

Disney Cruise Line is building three new cruise ships that all started with the Disney Wish. Each one features the immersive family entertainment, enchanting storytelling, and unparalleled service that only Disney can deliver.
